Our Studio
HuM Architects was created by two long-standing colleagues, with a passion to tread lightly on the earth by creating regenerative architecture, endeavouring to achieve a positive contribution to the fundamentals of place, water, energy, health & happiness, materials, equity and beauty.
With a design studio located in Ascot Vale, our residential, interior and commercial projects extend throughout Melbourne into Regional Victoria and interstate to Queensland.
We build strong lasting relationships with our clients, consultants and builders through our collaborative and engaging process.
As a studio we have committed to sustainable and regenerative practices, and undergo annual auditing to achieve Carbon Neutral certification through the Carbon Reduction Institute.
We are A+ members of the Australian Institute of Architects and are registered as a practice with the Architects Registration Board of Victoria. We are also affiliated with the Association of Consulting Architects and are a signatory to Architects Declare.
We participate in continuing professional development on an ongoing basis to ensure our team is kept up to date on best practice in the industry.
Our experienced project team will guide you on an enjoyable journey while drinking quite a few cuppas and lots of coffee along the way.

Justin Holman

With experience internationally and over 20 years locally, Justin’s knowledge and key involvement in award winning projects for both small and large scale, commercial, health, residential and multi-residential projects is extensive.
Co-founding Director of HuM Architects, Justin manages the strategic direction of the studio. Providing an energetic, practical, and proactive approach with an intrinsic ability to engage the collaboration of key stakeholders, consultants, and employees in all aspects of the project. His thorough understanding of the design process allows him to oversee and contribute seamlessly across all phases of vision, design, planning, detailing and contractual site administration to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Outside of the studio, family life is No.1 and if there is any time remaining, a sketch here and there or enjoying anything that moves fast on wheels!
Elizabeth Williams

Elizabeth is a co-founding Director of HuM Architects and has over 15 years of extensive experience in commercial, residential, multi-residential and interior projects. She is particularly astute in internal management processes, quality assurance and seeks out new ways to streamline improvements in the studio.
Highly involved in the design process with Justin, Elizabeth’s realistic and measured proficiency, ensures the construction documentation, detailing and delivery of all the projects match the vision and stakeholders’ expectation. With her holistic approach to proactive collaboration and inclusion in all aspects of the project, this makes an enjoyable journey for all.
When not at work Elizabeth enjoys exploring the coast, capturing moments with her family and the landscape through her interest with photography.
